POLICE CONTINUES CRACKDOWN ON ILLEGAL MINING IN PULWAMA; 7 VEHICLES & 1 JCB SEIZED

October 02: Continuing its drive against illegal mining and unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals, Police in has taken action against violators at multiple locations across the district.

During a night raid at Romshi Nallah, three tractors loaded with illegally extracted boulders were intercepted. The accused persons were identified and FIR No. 202/2026 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 3 of the PPD Act was registered at Police Station Pulwama.

In a separate action, a police party of Police Post Lassipora intercepted two dumpers and a tractor carrying boulders while patrolling around Rambi Ara Nallah. All three vehicles were seized and FIR No. 138/2026 was registered at Police Station Litter.

A Police party of Police Station Litter also seized a tipper carrying soil and a JCB in connection with FIR No. 139/2026. Investigations in all the cases have been taken up.

Police has reiterated its commitment to protecting public resources and enforcing the law against illegal mining and related activities.
