DHSK cracks whip on touts, agents of private testing labs

Asks CMOs, hospital heads to discourage such practices

Srinagar, Feb 02 : Directorate of Health Services Kashmir Friday took strong note of unethical practices exercised by agents of Private Testing Labs who force patients to get investigations done outside government hospitals.

“Private testing labs’ agents are motivating patients to undergo medical tests privately despite government healthcare facilities offering such tests. Government hospital Chief Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents are urged to discourage these unethical practices with law enforcement support and encourage patients to report such incidents,” a circular issued by DHSK reads.

It added that a monitoring system should be implemented to address these complaints and inform the relevant directorate.
