Srinagar, Aug 3 : Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Srinagar, Touseef Ahmad Magray has issued a notice directing all advocates appearing before his Court to strictly comply with the prescribed Advocate’s dress code during judicial proceedings.
The notice states that it has come to the Court’s attention that some advocates, particularly junior lawyers, have been appearing without the prescribed attire, which is not in conformity with the standards of dignity and decorum expected in court proceedings.
The CJM has asked all members of the Bar Association, District Court Complex, Moominabad, Srinagar, to ensure they appear before the Court in the prescribed dress from now on to uphold the decorum of the institution.
Senior members of the Bar have also been requested to ensure that their associates and junior advocates appearing on their behalf in assigned matters strictly follow the dress code and maintain the discipline and dignity of the Court.
