DGP J&K visits family of martyr Bodh Raj in Samba

Fallen hero was one of the important members of my team: DGP J&K

As a sequel to the decisions taken at the yesterday’s high level meeting in Police Headquarters regarding the measures to be taken to enhance the efforts for the martyr familes, the Director General of Police, J&K R.R. Swain today visited the family of Bodh Raj at Bakha Chak in District Samba.

The DGP during his visit interacted with the immediate family members, maternal/ paternal uncles and some other extended family members of the martyr Shri Bodh Raj.

The DGP was received by DC Samba, Shri Abhishek Sharma, SSP Samba Shri Benam Tosh, AIG Welfare, Shri Abhishek Mahajan, AIG Tech/Comn, Shri Manoj Kumar Pandith and other jurisdictional officers.

During the interaction, the family recalled as to how DGP had helped them during his posting as SSP Kathua.The DGP and the family recalled the persona of the fallen hero Shri Bodh Raj and said that he was calm and a mature person who had great respect for elders and love for his job and family . Recalling the quality of head and heart of the martyr, the DGP said that the brave heart was one of the important members of his team.

The family was thankful to DGP for visiting the family and said that it was heartening for them that the police family head visited them to know their welfare.

While interacting with the sons of the fallen hero, the DGP impressed upon them to work with dedication and honesty and added that Jammu and Kashmir Police as an institution is always at their beck and call. He impressed upon them to grab any opportunity which comes in their way and also advised them to explore possibilities of self employment and employment in private sector as well.

DC Samba, Shri Abhishek Sharma on the occasion assured all possible help and assistance to the family of brave heart.

Pertinent to mention here, that martyr constable Shri Bodh Raj a resident of Bakha Chak Samba had attained martyrdom in a car bomb blast at Residency Road Srinagar on August 10, 2000.
