2 Notorious Drug Peddlers Arrested With Contraband Substance in Kupwara: Police

Kupwara, Feb 4: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara said to have arrested two ‘notorious drug peddlers’ alongwith contraband substance in separate operations from the main town area.

“Acting upon specific information that drug peddlers were actively peddling drugs to youngsters in Kupwara town area, Police Station Kupwara arrested 2 persons red handed in two separate cases”, a statement issued to GNS reads.

The duo has been identified as Ghulam Nabi Malla resident of Maidanpora and Anzer Ahad Khan resident of Hyhama.

The duo, the statement reads, was intercepted with brown sugar which they were trying to sell to the youth and locals of Kupwara.

“Both notorious drug peddlers are now in police custody.”

The Police have extended gratitude to the locals for providing the information anonymously.

Notably, the fresh arrests have come just days after Shobhit Saxena (IPS) assumed the chair as SSP Kupwara.

Saxena has said that there would be zero tolerance policy towards drug menace in the district. (GNS)
