*Pulwama Police Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Mining; 1 Tipper, 1 JCB & 1 Dumper Seized, FIRs Registered*

Pulwama Sept.04: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of mineral resources, Pulwama Police has intensified enforcement measures across the district to curb the illegal extraction and transportation of sand and other minor minerals.

Official said at Tahab Crossing and Chewa Kalan Police Station Pulwama carried out enforcement action, where vehicles and machinery were found involved in illegal mining activities. At Tahab Crossing, a tipper bearing registration No. JK01AS-1617 was intercepted while carrying illegally extracted sand, while at Chewa Kalan, a JCB and a dumper were found involved in illegal mining and were seized.

Consequently, FIR No. 156/2026 under Sections 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and 3 PPD Act, and FIR No. 157/2026 under relevant provisions of law, have been registered at Police Station Pulwama. Further investigation in both cases has been taken up.

Pulwama Police remains committed to curbing illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of mineral resources and urges the public to report such activities to the Police for necessary legal action.
