Dry Weather To Continue As Temp Rises In J&K

 

Srinagar, June 5 : Night temperature recorded a rise as dry weather has been predicted to continue in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

A meteorological department official here told GNS that Srinagar recorded a low of 13.8ยฐC against 12.5ยฐC on the previous night, he said. The temperature, he said, was above normal by 0.4ยฐC during this time of the year for the summer capital.

Qazigund recorded a low of 11.4ยฐC against 9.4ยฐC on the previous night. The temperature was 0.6ยฐC above normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said.

Pahalgam, which had traces of rain in 24 hours till 0830 hours today, recorded a minimum of 6.3ยฐC against 5.8ยฐC on the previous night. The temperature was 0.7ยฐC below normal for the famous resort in south Kashmir during this time of the season, he said.

Kokernag recorded a low of 12.2ยฐC against 10.6ยฐC on the previous night. It was normal for the place in south Kashmir during this time of the season, the official said.

Gulmarg received 0.6 mm of rainfall during the time and recorded a low of 7.4ยฐC against 5.5ยฐC on the previous night, the official said. While 8.7ยฐC is normal for the world famous skiing resort during this time of the season, the official said that the temperature was 1.3ยฐC below normal for the place in north Kashmirโ€™s Baramulla district.

Kupwara town in north Kashmir recorded a low of 10.1ยฐC against 9.1ยฐC on the previous night. The temperature was 1.6ยฐC below normal for the district, the official told Global News Service.

Jammu recorded a low of 26.9ยฐC same as recorded on the previous night, the official said. The temperature was 1.2ยฐC above normal for J&Kโ€™s winter capital, he said. Banihal recorded a low of 13.8ยฐC, Batote recorded a low of 16.4ยฐC while Bhadarwah had a minimum of 12.6ยฐC, the official said. The MeT department has forecast mainly dry weather in the next few days in J&K. (GNS)
