Anurag Thakur slams NC-Cong for pushing J&K back into era of terrorism, unrest
Jammu, Sep 05: The former union minister and incumbent Member of Parliament, Anurag Thakur Thursday came down heavily on Congress and National Conference (NC) for pushing Jammu and Kashmir towards terrorism, anarchy and unrest.
Thakur said this during a road show taken out in Padder-Nagseni Assembly Constituency in favour of BJP candidate Sunil Sharma, a former minister in BJP-PDP coalition government.
“By talking of bringing back Article 370, NC and Congress want to push J&K back in an of terrorism,” Thakur said as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) and added, “There is peace in J&K and development here has been going on at rapid pace after abrogation of Article 370”.
The tourists are also arriving in J&K in record numbers, which the NC and Congress are not able to digest, he said.
Thakur said that heavy turnout in the road show and increasing support of the people to BJP from all across J&K shows that “BJP is going to form the next government in J&K”.
Thakur appealed to the people to vote for BJP and teach NC a lesson and give befitting reply to Congress and NC in the Assembly elections.
“After ruling the country for more than 60 years, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi could not come to Kashmir to play with snow and enjoy ice-cream,” Thakur said and added, “They played with snow, went around Kashmir and had ice-cream after Prime Minister Modi abrogated Article 370”.
The people have suffered a lot due to misdeeds and follies of NC and Congress since decades and these two parties have again come together to bring back terrorism and violence in J&K, he said.
“There was a time when Kashmir had become synonymous to terrorism, stone pelting and unrest but now under the leadership of PM Modi, it is synonymous with development, peace and prosperity,” Thakur said.
Today, we have AIIMS in J&K, IIMs, 11 Medical Colleges, NIFT, IIT and IIMC here in J&K under the visionary leadership of J&K, he said.
Commenting on Rahul Gandhi’s statement, Thakur said, “The Home Minister had clearly said that J&K will be given the status of a full State as soon as the Assembly elections are held. After the abrogation of Article 370, the incidents of stone pelting, terrorism and separatism have ended. BJP brought peace, prosperity and progress here. The people here are happy. Now, Rahul Gandhi said that he wants to settle here. The suffering caused by your government for 70 years has led to separatism. Where were you at that time?”—(KNO)
