*Anantnag Police Apprehends Drug Peddler at Sangam; Over 1 Kg Contraband Substance Recovered*

Continuing its intensified drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Anantnag Police achieved another significant success by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering a substantial quantity of contraband substance from his possession.
Acting proactively during naka checking and surveillance in the jurisdiction of Police Post Sangam, a police team intercepted and apprehended one drug peddler identified as Javid Ahmad Bhat S/O Abdul Samad Bhat R/O Melhora Wandana. During his search, police recovered 1 kilogram and 90 grams of charas-like powder substance from his possession.
In this connection, FIR No. 119/2026 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered and investigation has been set into motion to ascertain forward and backward linkages of the narcotics network.
