Says unemployment, poor economic condition led to fall of Govt there, ECI visiting J&K to fix poll dates, No idea about Waqf Board amendments.
Srinagar, Aug 06 : National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah while commenting on the situation emerging in Bangaladesh, said that “we need to be extremely careful and watch the things unfolding there with great care.” He, however, added that he was hopeful that Bangladesh will maintain cordial relation with India.
“We should be extremely careful and watch the situation with great care. I hope this resolves soon. I hope they will maintain cordial relation with our nation. There has been an unrest in Bangladesh since past many years.
Unemployment and poor economic condition is the reason that led to the fall of the government there,” the NC president told reporters in Srinagar, as per news agency.
About the Election Commission of India’s (ECI’s) proposed visit to J&K from August 8 to 10, the NC chief said: “They will come and announce or fix the election dates. “There is nothing more than this ….,” he said.
On media reports about amendments in the J&K Waqf Board Act, Dr Farooq said: “I haven’t seen any amendment coming to Waqf Board Act so far, let them come, only then I can comment.” Agencies
