February 07: Police in Pulwama arrested an extortionist alongwith fake weapons, who was impersonating as a terrorist.
Police Station Rajpora received a written complaint from a person (name withheld) stating therein that at about 1930hrs while on way to home from his clinic, he was intercepted by an unknown person who threatened him with weapon and demanded money & other valuable items. The accused person fled away from the spot by taking his wallet containing cash ₹3300/- and his mobile phone.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 8/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Rajpora and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, few suspects were rounded up and called for questioning. During investigation one suspect identified as Adil Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Yousuf Dar resident of Bellow Pulwama confessed his involvement in the said crime. On his disclosure, the investigating team was able to recover 02 toy pistols, 03 wallets, 01 Redmi Mobile phone, Cash ₹3330, 01 JK Bank ATM, Aadhaar card, SBI ATM Card, Driving Licence, Pan Card, Election Card, Jio Sim card belonging to the complainant. Further investigation into the case is going on.
Our consistent action against anti-social elements shall assure community members that Police is resolved to act tough against the elements involved in any kind of criminal activities. Community members are requested to come forward and bring any such incident in the notice of local Police.
