Awantipora, May 08: The Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, during his maiden visit to the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) on May 11, 2022, will launch various start-ups and initiatives, during the National Academia-Industrial Conclave being organised by University’s flagship entrepreneurial and innovation hub, Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED).
The Lt Governor will dedicate key infrastructure facilities on the IUST campus during his visit, including the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED), Food Technology Block, Nursing College block and NABL accredited Food Testing Lab. He will also preside over the signing of a score of MoUs between IUST and Industry, businesses, institutions and the government. The IUST Startup awards 2022 will be presented by the Lt Governor to about 20 budding innovators and entrepreneurs who are hosted by the IUST for their innovative ideas connected to various aspects of businesses and socio-economic impact. In addition, he will be releasing the university’s community newspaper, ‘Naad’. According to the Vice Chancellor IUST Prof. Shakil A. Romshoo, “The idea is to bring together eminent experts, academicians, industrialists, business chambers, young innovators, and government officials to exchange their experiences and explore solutions to various economic, social and industrial issues facing the UT and to bridge the gap between academia and industry — a key highlight of the NEP2020.”
Other dignitaries and speakers at the Conclave include Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to Hon’ble Lt Governor, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary JKUT, Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir, Prof Anil Gupta, Founder GIAN India. A number of eminent experts in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship from various national agencies such as Niti Ayog, IITs, SRISTI, several Vice-Chancellors, heads of various government departments, heads of several chambers, federations and industries will be participating in this Two-Day National Conclave on 11 and 12 May.
