IGP Kashmir Chairs High-Level Security Review Meeting in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 8, : In a bid to strengthen coordination among various security agencies, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, chaired a comprehensive joint security review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) Srinagar on Wednesday.
The meeting witnessed the participation of senior officers from the Police, Army, Intelligence Agencies, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other key departments. Those present included IGs and DIGs from the BSF, CRPF, SSB, RPF, ITBP, and Traffic Police, as well as senior officials from the CID, SDRF, and telecommunication units. District SSPs from across the Kashmir zone also joined the deliberations virtually.
The session began with a detailed briefing to IGP Kashmir on the current security landscape in the Valley. The discussions centred around intelligence inputs, potential threats, response mechanisms, and the need for enhanced coordination among all stakeholders.
Emphasizing the importance of unified efforts, IGP Birdi called for improved inter-agency collaboration, timely information exchange, and joint operational readiness to effectively tackle emerging challenges.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmed commitment by all participating agencies to continue working in close sync to ensure peace and stability across the Kashmir Valley.
