Thousands Attend 130th Urs of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyanvi (RA) at Baba Nagri

Ganderbal, June 8th A large number of devotees from across Jammu and Kashmir participated in the 130th annual Urs of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyanvi at Baba Nagri in Wangat, Ganderbal, with the two-day religious gathering concluding on Monday.

Devotees from various districts thronged the shrine to offer prayers and seek blessings. The Urs featured Quran recitations, Shab Khawani, Darood-o-Azkaar, and other religious programmes, attracting men, women, and children from different parts of the region.

Religious scholars highlighted the saint’s teachings of peace, tolerance, compassion, and service to humanity, urging people to uphold Kashmir’s rich Sufi traditions and promote communal harmony.

Addressing the gathering, Mian Altaf Ahmad paid tributes to the spiritual legacy of the saint and remembered the contributions of his late father, Mian Bashir Ahmad. He appealed to people to follow the path of love, brotherhood, and humanity shown by revered saints.

Special prayers were offered for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of society. The annual Urs remains one of Kashmir’s largest spiritual congregations, symbolising faith, unity, and the Valley’s enduring Sufi heritage.
