Apni Party Supports Independent Candidate Taj Mohiuddin in Uri Constituency
Srinagar, Sep 9 : The Altaf Bukhari-led Apni Party has announced its support for independent candidate Taj Mohiuddin in the Uri constituency. The announcement was made during a joint press conference in Srinagar on Monday.
Speaking at the press conference, Altaf Bukhari stressed the importance of supporting a candidate who is dedicated to the welfare and development of the valley. He expressed confidence in Taj Mohiuddin’s ability to effectively represent the people of Uri. “We will work with independent candidates whenever it is necessary for the public’s benefit,” Bukhari stated.
In response to a question about accusations that the parties are proxies of the BJP, Bukhari criticized Mehbooba Mufti for frequently changing her stance. He added that the Apni Party does not wish to make the elections contentious by speaking against anyone. “We don’t want to discuss A, B, or C teams here. If we do, then NC and PDP would be in the A+ category, and we would be A-,” he said.
Taj Mohiuddin, while thanking the Apni Party for its support, clarified that he has not contacted the Congress leadership since resigning from the DPAP led by Ghulam Nabi Azad.
