Except Srinagar, Night Temperature Rises Slightly In Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Feb 10: Except in Srinagar the night temperature rose slightly in most parts of the valley.
The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar, recorded a night temperature of minus 4.9 degrees Celsius, up from minus 4.8 degrees the previous day, the officials said.
The meteorological center in Srinagar, the tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir, was coldest during the night, at -8.6 degrees Celsius against -10.3 °C the previous night.
The ski resort of Gulmarg in the north recorded a minimum temperature of -7.0 degrees Celsius against -9.0°C the previous night.
Qazigund—the gateway town to the valley—in south Kashmir recorded a low of minus 5.8 degrees Celsius, against -6.4°C the previous night.
Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 4.4 degrees Celsius last night, the MeT said.
MeT said the night temperature in Jammu was 7.3, Katra 6.1, Batote 3.9, Bhaderwah minus 2.2, and Banihal 1.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The weather is likely to remain dry till February 17.
“There can be occasional cloudy weather on February 14,” the weatherman has predicted.
After a prolonged dry spell, Kashmir received decent snow and rain last week. After the recent snow spell, Kashmir has been witnessing mostly sunny days, and the daytime temperatures have been 2 to 4 degrees above normal. On Friday, the daytime temperature was 11.5 degrees Celsius, which was 2.3 notches above normal. (Agencies)
