Secretary Dr. Abdul Kabir Seeks Voluntary Retirement to Contest Assembly Polls

Secretary of the Technical Administrative Reforms, Inspection and Trainings Department, Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar has submitted his application for voluntary retirement from government service.

In his letter addressed to the Commissioner/Secretary of the General Administration Department, Dar as per Kashmir Dot Com requested that his retirement be effective from September 1, 2024, citing his intention to contest the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Dar’s application seeks to waive the standard three-month notice period required under Rule-230(i) of the J&K Civil Service Regulations to enable timely filing of his nomination papers. His decision comes as he prepares to transition from his current role to a potential legislative career.
