Kashmiri boy makes it to Team England’s nets for the ongoing England-New Zealand series

The ongoing cricket series between England and New Zealand has brought a moment of pride for cricket lovers in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district as Mateen Teli, a pace bowler from the town will be seen bowling at the England team’s nets during the series.

An ace cricketer of his area, Mateen hails from Arampora area of Sopore. He is living in England for the last four years and pursuing masters degree at Nottingham University.

His friends remember Teli as an exceptional player in the circuit of domestic tournaments.

While talking to Rising Kashmir, Mateen’s proud father Haji Abdul Ahad Teli said that it was his dream to see his son play at an international platform.

Mateen is playing for a local club there in England and has recieved applause from the coaches and team selectors.

After achieving the feat, Mateen said that he is more enthusiastic and hopeful about the future and wants to represent Kashmir at an international level. (Agencies)
