*Anantnag Police Intensifies Action Against Illegal Mineral Extraction; Two Tractors Seized*
Anantnag, August 12, 2026:Anantnag Police has intensified its crackdown on illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals, taking firm action against violators across the district.
During checking, a police party from Police Station Achabal intercepted a tractor found involved in the illegal transportation of minor minerals. The vehicle was immediately seized and cognizance of the violation has been taken as per law.
In another action, a police party from Police Station Dooru, during naka checking at Nadoora, intercepted a tractor carrying illegally extracted bajri and boulders. The vehicle was seized and a case has been registered under relevant provisions of law.
Anantnag Police reiterates that illegal extraction, transportation and trade of minor minerals will not be tolerated. Strict action will continue against individuals and vehicles found violating the law, with the aim of protecting public resources and maintaining environmental safeguards.
