Javid Dar hears public grievances, assures time-bound redress

SRINAGAR, MAY 13: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar, today held an extensive public grievance hearing at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, where he interacted with scores of delegations and individuals and heard their concerns and demands.
During the public interaction, a delegation from Tuzer Sharief, Zainapora projected issues related to macadamization of roads and installation of drinking water pipelines to strengthen basic public infrastructure in the area.
Another delegation comprising carpenters from across Kashmir Division urged the Minister to extend welfare schemes’ benefits to them on the lines of construction workers registered under the Labour Commissioner J&K, emphasizing the need for greater social security and institutional support for the community.
Several individuals also raised concerns regarding execution of civil works, construction of sheds and bund walls besides seeking release of pending payments under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) and other development schemes.
Taking immediate cognizance of the issues projected during the hearing, the Minister issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for prompt resolution of the genuine public grievances. He reiterated that public grievance redress remains a top priority of the government and assured the delegations that all their demands would be addressed on priority through coordinated and time-bound action.
