*PULWAMA POLICE TAKES ACTION AGAINST ILLEGAL MINING; 02 TIPPERS SEIZED, FIR REGISTERED*
June 13`: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining activities, police in Pulwama , in coordination with the field staff of Flood Control Division Kakapora, conducted a joint patrolling operation in the area of Khadermoh and detected illegal extraction of sand from River Jhelum.
During the operation, two persons namely Ishfaq Ahmad Tali S/O Gh. Mohammad Tali R/O Hussipora Chadoora, Budgam and Mushtaq Ahmad Dar S/O Ghulam Mohammad Dar R/O Hushroo, Chadoora, Budgam were found illegally loading sand into their tippers bearing registration Nos. JK02AP-9263 and JK04B-7413 respectively. The accused persons were apprehended on the spot and both vehicles involved in the illegal activity were seized.
In this regard, Case FIR No. 48/2026 under sections 303(2) and 324 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at Police Station Kakapora and investigation has been taken up.
