Minister Javed Ahmed Rana pays rich tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on his 135th birth anniversary at Ambedkar Chowk, Jakhani Udhampur.
Calling him the greatest Indian of 20th Century, Rana highlighted the pivotal role played by Dr. Ambedkar in framing Indian constitution that guarantees justice, liberty and equality for all citizens in political, economic and social spheres.
Referring him as a champion of social justice, the Minister said Dr. Ambedkar dedicated his life to fighting caste discrimination and untouchability, becoming a voice of the marginalized and oppressed.
As a pioneer of Dalit liberation from the tentacles of caste system, he worked tirelessly to ensure equal rights, representation and opportunities for Scheduled Castes and other backward communities, he remarked while urging everyone to dedicate themselves to building a society that’s inclusive, equitable and just for all.
