ARTO Baramulla Promotes Road Safety with Helmet Distribution in Sopore
As part of the ongoing 36th National Road Safety Month, the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) in Baramulla launched a road safety awareness campaign in Sopore town on Wednesday. The event aimed to encourage helmet use among two-wheeler riders. New helmets were distributed to motorcyclists already wearing helmets, while old helmets were collected and redistributed to those riding without proper headgear.
Muazzam Ali, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer, attended the event and emphasized the critical importance of following traffic rules for everyone’s safety. He urged the community to recognize their collective responsibility in improving traffic management. Ali acknowledged that altering driving behavior takes time, but he stressed that education is essential for making long-term changes to road safety.
The ARTO Baramulla remains committed to fostering a safer road environment through continued efforts like these. By promoting responsible driving practices, the office aims to reduce road accidents and instill a culture of safety across the region.
