Atiq Ahmed Shot Dead: Ministry of Home Affairs will prepare SOPs for safety, security of journalists

Gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were shot dead while being taken for medical in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday late night.

Three killers have been arrested, and are to be produced in court today.

A team of doctors will conduct post-mortem examination of their bodies this afternoon. Their bodies will be buried at a family graveyard in Kasari Masari area in Prayagraj.

Meanwhile prohibitory orders have been issued across Uttar Pradesh under CrPC Section 144, and security has been tightened in all districts.
