Anantnag, August 16, 2026:
Acting on reliable information regarding gambling activities at Dodh Kol Nad, Baghdar, Anantnag Police apprehended five persons from the spot and recovered a total cash amount of ₹22,800/- from their possession.
The apprehended persons have been identified as Basit Muzaffar, Aashiq Hussain, Irshad Ahmad Bhat, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani and Riyal Ahmad Reshi.
In this regard, FIR No. 268/2026 under Section 13 of the Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Anantnag, and further investigation has been taken up.
Anantnag Police reiterates its commitment to taking strict action against gambling and other unlawful activities and urges the public to report such activities to the Police.
