Srinagar man jumps into river Jhelum, rescued by river Police at Budshah bridge

Srinagar: A 40-year-old man from Srinagar on Friday attempted to commit suicide by jumping into river Jhelum, however, he was rescued by river Police near Budshah bridge here.

Officials told local news agency that a man hailing from Ikhraj Pora, Rajbagh jumped into river Jhelum from Budshah bridge here.

However, they said that the river police already deployed at the spot rescued him soon after he jumped into the river Jhelum.

Pertinently, the authorities have identified suicide hotspots here where the number of such incidents are on rise.
