VC CU Srinagar Prof. Mobin Honoured With Prestigious B.P. Verma Memorial Award for Chemical Sciences

Srinagar, Aug 17: Vice Chancellor of Cluster University of Srinagar, Professor Mohammad Mobin, has been honoured with the prestigious Professor B.P. Verma Memorial Award for 2025 by the Indian Chemical Society (ICS) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to research, development and innovation in Chemical Sciences and Engineering.
VC, CU-Sgr, Prof. Mobin hasbeen honoured with the Professor B.P. Verma Memorial Award for the year 2025 by the Indian Chemical Society (ICS) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Research, Development and Innovation in the field of Chemical Sciences and Engineering.
The Indian Chemical Society, one of India’s leading professional bodies in the chemical sciences, has played a significant role in promoting chemical sciences, technology and industry in the country.
As part of the recognition, Professor Mobin has been invited to deliver the Professor B.P. Verma Memorial Award Endowment Lecture at the 63rd Annual Convention of Chemists (ACC 2026) of the Indian Chemical Society. The convention is scheduled to be held from December 14–16, 2026, at Graphic Era University, Dehradun.
The award is a significant recognition of Professor Mobin’s sustained contributions to research, development and innovation in Chemical Sciences and Engineering. His work has contributed to strengthening the interface between advanced research, technological innovation and societal applications.
The Professor B.P. Verma Memorial Award adds another distinguished recognition to Professor Mobin’s academic and research achievements and is a matter of pride for Cluster University of Srinagar and the wider academic and scientific community.
In a communication dated August 14, Prof. G. D. Yadav, President, Indian Chemical Society, conveyed that the Society was privileged to honour Professor Mobin for his distinguished professional accomplishments, which have brought prestige to Chemical Sciences and Engineering and contributed to the advancement of the Indian chemical and allied industries and society at large.
Prof. Mobin is presently serving as the Vice Chancellor of Cluster University of Srinagar on Deputation from Aligarh Muslim University. His academic and research contributions span the field of Chemical Sciences and Engineering, with a particular emphasis on research, innovation and technological development on Materials and Corrosion.
