Police recover charas, cash in a raid from a narcotic dealer’s house in North Kashmir’s Kupwara

Kupwara, May 18: Police on Wednesday said that it arrested a drug peddler from whose possession police ‘recovered a huge narcotics consignment besides unauthorized cash’ in Diver Lolab area in frontier north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Police in a statement said that on receipt of specific input, a team headed by DySP Lolab and SHO Lalpora Mushtaq Ahmad apprehended a person at Kakkadpatti in Diver Lolab.

“During the searches that were conducted in presence of Executive Magistrate, the police team recovered 12-kilograms of Charas-like substance and an unauthorized amount of 5.60 lakh from the possession of the person.”

As per the police statement, the accused were identified as Muhammad Shafi Gojar son of Jumma Gojar against whom a case (27/2022) under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at police station Lalpora. (Agencies)
