
Srinagar, Sep 18 : Mainly dry weather has been forecast for next 24 hours while as night temperature recorded a fall with several places recording less than normal during this time of the season in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
A meteorological department official here told GNS that no large change was expected in the weather for the next two days.
Regarding the minimum temperature, he said, Srinagar recorded a low of 12.4ยฐC against 16.2ยฐC on the previous night. The temperature was 0.5ยฐC above normal for the summer capital during this time of the year, he said.
Qazigund recorded a low of 11.2ยฐC against 13.2ยฐC on the previous night. The temperature was 0.9ยฐC above normal there, he said.
In Pahalgam, he said, the mercury settled at 6.1ยฐC against 9.1ยฐC on the previous night and it was 1.7ยฐC below normal for the south Kashmir resort.
Kokernag recorded a low of 10.8ยฐC against 12.7ยฐC the previous night and it was 0.1ยฐC above normal for the place, he said.
World famous Gulmarg resort recorded a low of 6.0ยฐC against 8.5ยฐC on the previous night. It was 1.9ยฐC below normal for the north Kashmir place, he said.
In Kupwara town, the mercury settled at 9.6ยฐC against 12.8ยฐC the previous night, the official said. It was 0.6ยฐC below normal for the north Kashmir place, he said.
Jammu recorded a low of 21.5ยฐC against 23.5ยฐC on the previous night. It was 1.9ยฐC below normal for J&Kโs winter capital, he said. Banihal recorded a low of 10.6ยฐC, Batote 12.9ยฐC, Katra 19.2ยฐC and Bhadarwah 11.9ยฐC. (GNS)
