Traders Association Central Lal Chowk (Ghanta Ghar) Extends Warm Eid-ul-Fitr Greetings

SRINAGAR — March 19, 2026 — On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the Traders Association Central Lal Chowk (Ghanta Ghar) under the leadership of Mr. Feroz Ahmed Baba, Suhail Shah and Aqib Nabi extend its heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially our valued customers and the entire business community.
As the holy month of Ramadan culminates, the iconic city centre—from the historic Ghanta Ghar to markets like Goni Khan—has once again become a hub of festive energy and communal harmony. Despite contemporary economic shifts and the rise of online shopping, the association is heartened by the resilience of local shoppers who continue to patronise the traditional heart of Srinagar.
The association acknowledges the challenges faced by local traders, including a noted decline in traditional festive sales compared to previous years. We remain committed to revitalising the local economy and improving the shopping experience for all.
In recent meetings with the administration, including the Lieutenant Governor office
and Commissioner SMC, the association has actively pushed for improved civic amenities and the restoration of commercial traffic to ensure Lal Chowk remains accessible and vibrant for everyone
