*Police Alongwith Excise Department Conduct Joint Drive To Curb Wild Cannabis Growth In Ganderbal*

August 19: As part of the “Nasha-Mukt Jammu & Kashmir”, police in Ganderbal, in collaboration with the Excise Department, conducted a joint drive to curb the growth of wild cannabis (bhang) along the roadside in the jurisdiction of Police Post Nagbal.

During the drive, police personnel and officials of the Excise Department carried out a thorough weeding and destruction drive from Darind up to Hilltop School, cutting and removing wild cannabis and other unwanted weeds that had grown along the roadside. The initiative was aimed at preventing the growth and spread of wild cannabis in public areas and reducing the possibility of its misuse, particularly by youth.

Police reiterated its commitment to combat the menace of drug abuse and illicit narcotic substances through sustained enforcement, preventive measures and community participation. The public has also been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious drug-related activity to the Police.
