Dir SEK Inaugurates Dissemination-cum-Orientation Programme on Post PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 at Kulgam

KULGAM,DECEMBER,20: Director School Education Kashmir (SEK), Naseer Ahmad Wani, today visited Kulgam and inaugurated a one-day Dissemination-cum-Orientation Programme on Post PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan (PRS) 2024 at the Auditorium, Mini Secretariat Kulgam.
The programme was organised for Principals, Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), Headmasters of High Schools, and Heads of Institutions (HOIs) of Middle Schools.
The programme focused on strengthening instructional leadership to bridge learning gaps and achieve grade-wise competencies in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Adressing on the occasion, the Director underscored the transformative role of school leadership in improving learning outcomes and emphasised the constructive use of large-scale assessment data. NAS is not an exercise in ranking schools, but a powerful diagnostic tool for reflection, planning, and reform. Effective leadership must translate assessment insights into targeted academic support, teacher empowerment, and competency-based learning for every child, he added.
ADC Kulgam, Viqar Ahmad Giri highlighted the importance of coordinated and collaborative leadership at school and zonal levels to ensure meaningful implementation of NAS-based interventions.
The programme featured detailed presentations on interpreting PRS 2024 data, identifying priority learning needs, and developing school-specific and zone-specific action plans.
Special emphasis was laid on foundational literacy and numeracy, conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills across different stages of schooling.
Interactive sessions enabled participants to exchange best practices, discuss field-level challenges, and seek clarity on implementing competency-based education. The deliberations highlighted the pivotal role of Principals as instructional leaders and Zonal Education Officers as academic mentors in driving systemic improvement and ensuring effective classroom transactions.
Other speakers, including, Joint Director South, Kishore Kumar; Chief Education officer Kulgam; Mohammad Shabir, Principal DIET Kulgam; Mtr Rifat Sarosh, Deputy Chief Education Officer Kulgam, Javaid Iqbal and Principal HSS Qaimoh, Dr. Sajad Ahmad Mir also shared their experiences with the participants.
