Anantnag, 21 June 2026:
Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking, Anantnag Police achieved another success by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering Charas from his possession.
A police party from Police Station Utrasoo intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK03C-4427 at Watikash Yadibagh during routine checking. The rider was identified as Irfan Ahmad Khan, son of Abdul Hameed Khan, a resident of Baighpora Songlan.
During his search, police recovered approximately 22 grams of a charas from his possession. The accused was immediately taken into custody and the contraband was seized in accordance with legal procedures.
Anantnag Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicating the drug menace and appeals to the public to continue supporting law enforcement by sharing any information related to narcotics trafficking. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
