*Altaf Thakur Congratulates ANN News on 10 Years*

Senior BJP leader and BJP J&K spokesman Altaf Thakur has congratulated Tariq Bhat, Editor-in-Chief of ANN News, and the entire ANN News team on completing 10 years of journalism and public service.
In a statement, Thakur described the completion of a decade as a significant milestone, saying it reflected perseverance, professional commitment and faith in the principles of journalism.
“Ten years in journalism is not merely a milestone; it is a testimony to commitment, perseverance and faith in the power of truth. Tariq Bhat and his team have demonstrated that credible journalism can survive and grow even in challenging circumstances,” Thakur said.
He particularly appreciated Bhat for maintaining journalistic ethics and professional values despite pressures, criticism and threats faced during the course of his work.
“Journalism is a profession that demands courage, responsibility and conviction. Standing by facts and professional ethics, particularly when there are pressures or threats, is not easy. Tariq Bhat has demonstrated that journalism can be pursued with courage without compromising its basic principles,” he said.
Thakur said the media has a crucial role in a democracy, describing journalists as an important link between the people, institutions and the government.
“Responsible journalism is essential for a healthy democracy. The media gives voice to ordinary citizens, highlights public grievances, raises issues of public importance and helps authorities understand the concerns of the people,” he said.
He said ANN News has, during its 10-year journey, remained connected with issues concerning society and contributed to the evolving media landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
Thakur also appreciated the reporters, cameramen, technical staff and other members of ANN News whose collective efforts, he said, had contributed to the organisation’s growth.
He stressed that credibility remains the biggest strength of any media organisation and urged ANN News to continue giving priority to accuracy, fairness, public interest and professional ethics.
