*JKBOSE Bans Supervisory Staff from Using Mobile Phones During Board Exams*

Centre Superintendents to Ensure Compliance; Candidates Barred from Leaving with Question Papers Before Half-Time*

Srinagar, Oct 21 The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has directed centre superintendents not to allow examination supervisory staff to keep mobile phones with them during examination hours.

As per a circular issued by JKBOSE on October 21, 2026, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, all supervisory staff must deposit their mobile phones with the respective centre superintendents before the commencement of examination duties.

The circular states that centre superintendents will be personally responsible for ensuring strict implementation of the instructions.

However, centre superintendents have been exempted from the restriction and are permitted to keep mobile phones for effective communication and to remain in constant contact with the divisional, sub and branch offices of JKBOSE, besides their respective departmental hierarchies.

The Board has also directed that no candidate shall be allowed to leave the examination centre with the question paper until at least half of the examination duration has elapsed.

The instructions have been issued to regulate the conduct of examinations and ensure proper supervision at examination centres. (JKNS)
