Wildlife Team Captures Black Bear in Ganderbal Village

Ganderbal, Jan 22, The Wildlife Department captured a black bear on Wednesday that had been causing fear among the locals of Gujjar Basti Watnar, a remote village in central Kashmirโ€™s Ganderbal district.

The bear, which had been sighted roaming near populated areas, was safely trapped in a net by the Wildlife Team after villagers sought their assistance.

A Wildlife Department official confirmed the operation, stating, โ€œThe black bear was creating panic among the villagers, and they had requested us to intervene. Today, we successfully captured the bear, and it will soon be released in a distant forested area, far from human habitation.โ€

The operation brings relief to the villagers, who had been concerned about the potential risks posed by the animalโ€™s presence.

The Wild Life official urged villagers to report sightings of wild animals promptly to ensure both human and wildlife safety.
