*Jhelum water level well below warning mark, no need to panic: Flood Control Department*
Srinagar, July 22 Amid continuous rainfall across Kashmir, the Flood and irrigation (I&FC) department on Wednesday said there is no need to panic as the Jhelum river is flowing well below the warning and danger levels at key gauge stations.
A top official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the water level at Ram Munshi Bagh is 7.91 feet, while at Sangam it stood at 5.54 feet.
He said the warning and danger levels at Ram Munshi Bagh are 18 feet and 21 feet, respectively, while at Sangam the warning level is 21 feet and the danger level is 25 feet, indicating that the river is currently flowing far below the flood threshold.
The official further advised people not to panic or pay heed to rumours and urged them to download the Kashmir Flood Watch App for real-time updates on water levels and flood-related information—(KNO)
