J&K Police In Shopian Arrested Drug Peddler; Contraband Substance Recovered

August 23: Continuing its sustained efforts to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from society, Police in Shopian arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
During routine naka checking at Mastpora crossing a police party from Police Station Keller noticed a person moving under suspicious circumstances and tactfully apprehended him. During his personal search, approximately 280 Grams Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Junaid Ahmad Khanday son of Gh Ahmad Khanday resident of Keller.
Accordingly, FIR No. 87/2026 under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Keller and investigation has been taken up to establish forward and backward linkages and dismantle the larger drug network involved.
