J&K Medical Council issues strict notice against unregistered medical practitioners
Srinagar, Dec 23 : The Jammu & Kashmir Medical Council has issued a stern notice to all private clinics, poly-clinics, infertility centres, rehabilitation centres, de-addiction centres, hospices, domiciliary care providers, mobile clinics, and other clinical establishments across Jammu and Kashmir, warning against the engagement of unregistered allopathic medical practitioners.
The council, according expressed serious concern over reports of practitioners operating without proper registration, terming it a breach of professional ethics and conduct. “Such actions violate ethics and pose a risk to patient safety,” the notice stated.
The council directed all proprietors and managers of these establishments to ensure that only practitioners with valid permanent or additional qualification registration from the J&K Medical Council are allowed to practice or perform any procedures, surgeries, or therapies.
They have been advised to immediately inform unregistered practitioners to apply online for registration through the official website of the J&K Medical Council. Failure to comply with these directives will lead to strict disciplinary action under the Professional Conduct, Etiquette & Ethics Regulations, 2002.
