Sopore Police Martyrs Memorial T-20 Knockout Cricket Tournament Inaugurated

Sopore, 24 Dec.The Sopore Police Martyrs Memorial T-20 Knockout Cricket Tournament kicked off today at Eden Park MET Ground in Sopore, with DIG Police NKR Baramulla, Shri Maqsood ul Zaman-IPS, and SP Sopore, Smt. Divya D-IPS, serving as the chief guests. The tournament features 32 participating teams, showcasing their cricketing talent and fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among the participants.
The inauguration ceremony set the stage for what promises to be an exciting and competitive tournament. DIG NKR Baramulla, in his address, encouraged the players to demonstrate their skills and uphold the values of discipline and teamwork. He highlighted the importance of such events in promoting unity and brotherhood among the youth.
The tournament, organized as a tribute to the brave martyrs of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, aims to honor their sacrifice and foster a sense of community and social responsibility. It provides a platform for young people to engage in healthy competition while remembering those who have given their lives in the line of duty.
The inaugural match saw Lala Blues Sopore face off against Seer Eleven. Winning the toss, Lala Blues Sopore chose to field first, inviting Seer Eleven to bat.
The event was attended by other dignitaries, including ASP Sopore, Shri Mir Murtaza-JKPS, SDPO Sopore, Shri Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS, and DYSP PC Wadoora, Shri Khursheed Rasool, along with several other senior officers.
