Will protest in Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, hit streets across country for Statehood restoration to J&K: Rahul Gandhi in Jammu

Senior Congress leader and the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi today soon after the Assembly elections in J&K, INDIA alliance will build pressure on BJP led government to restore the Statehood and if BJP fails, INDIA alliance will protest in Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and also hit streets across the country.

Addressing a massivew gathering at Jammu, Rahul said that soon after the elections, INDIA alliance will mount pressure on the BJP led government to restore the Statehood to J&K. “If they do not do it, we will protest in Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and also hit streets across the country. If BJP still doesn’t restore the Statehood, it will be the first priority of the INDIA alliance government that is going to come to power soon,” the LoP said

He said the BJP led government has choked the development of J&K. “J&K affairs are run by outsiders. Lieutenant Governor is doing things at his will,” he said. Rahul said that Kashmir’s economy was dependent on its Apple but today, Prime Minister Narendera Modi has handed over Kashmiri apples to Adanis’ and Ambanis. “Even Himachal apples are being handed over to Adanis and Ambanis. Wherever you go, there is Adani tax and Ambani tax. Prime Minister has waived off Rs 16 lakh crore worth loan for Adanis and Ambanis,” Rahul said.

The LoP said that Kashmir and Jammu was the central hub of India’s business activity but the BJP led government choked and snatched. “LG and the BJP government have broken the backbone of small businesses in J&K,” Rahul said, adding that youth have been left jobless across J&K.”

He said unless and until, small medium enterprises flourish in J&K, unemployment will prevail. “But BJP doesn’t want it, that’s why LG has been brought in,” he said.

Taking a dig at PM Modi for boasting on “Make in India”, Rahul said Adani’s tag is being fixed on Israeli made weapons. Rahul said the promise made by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about Kashmiri Pandit Rehabilitation will be fulfilled. “As far as smart meters go, we will remove them, we don’t need them,” he said. “We will make Punjabi an official language as well.”

He said in the opposition, he will raise the voice of J&K people. “Whenever you would invite me to Jammu, I will be here,” he said— (News Vibes of India)
