*Anantnag Police Conducts Sniper Response Mock Drill at Batangoo Ahead of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026*

In view of the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, Anantnag Police conducted a specialised Sniper Response Mock Drill at Batangoo along the Yatra route as part of its comprehensive security preparedness for the annual pilgrimage.
The exercise was aimed at assessing the operational readiness, precision engagement capabilities, and swift response of specially trained sniper teams in dealing with potential security contingencies. The drill simulated a realistic threat scenario requiring rapid deployment, strategic positioning, target identification, and coordinated neutralisation of the simulated threat while ensuring the safety of pilgrims and security personnel.
The mock drill witnessed the active participation of Anantnag Police’s specialised sniper teams, along with other security personnel deployed for Yatra duties. The exercise also tested communication systems, coordination among ground units, command and control mechanisms, and adherence to standard operating procedures during critical situations.
