J&K Political Parties to Meet in Jammu on August 7
Srinagar, July 26 : For the first time since 2019, political parties of Jammu and Kashmir will meet together on August 7 in Jammu.
Sources told Kashmir News Service(KNS) that the agenda includes integrating the J&K police into the Ministry of Home Affairs budget, enhancing the powers of the Lieutenant Governor, and discussing the upcoming assembly elections.
They said that expected attendees include the Apni Party, People’s Conference, National Conference, People’s Democratic Party, Congress, and other significant parties. It will be the first unified meeting of these political parties since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
Following the removal of Article 370, regional political parties in J&K formed the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration, with the Apni Party not participating in the alliance.
CPI(M) Leader M Y Tarigami Confirmed to KNS that the parties will meet in Jammu on 07 August at 10:00AM at Radisson Hotel Jammu.(Agencies)
