IGP Kashmir V.K Birdi Rescinds Transfer Order Effected On Feb 25, 2024
Srinagar, Feb 27 (KS): Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Division, on Tuesday annulled ab-intio a transfer order issued by the Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ) on February 25, 2024.
“In pursuance of the instructions/clarification issued by the Hon’ble Election Commission of India on the subject (General Election to House of the people (Lok Sabha) 2024 – Transfer/Posting of officers-clarification-regarding), vide letter number 437/06/6/1/INST/ECI/FUNCT/MCC/2023 dated 27.02.2024, the transfer effected vide ZPHQ order number 756 of 2024 dated 25.02.2024 is hereby cancelled ab-intio,” reads an order, a copy of which lies with news agency Kashmir Scroll.
“However, instruction of the Hon’ble Election Commission of India on the subject communicated vide letter number 437/6/1/EST/FUNCT/MCC/2023 dated 21.12.2023 which continues to apply to UT of J&K adhered to, letter and spirit,” the order reads further. (KS)
