Baramulla, Sept 26: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Waheed ur Rehman Para on Thursday said the party is regaining its footing in Jammu & Kashmir as the public becomes increasingly aware of its past circumstances.
“PDP has faced many challenges from the government, including the departure of 40 members who are now residing outside Jammu & Kashmir due to pressure exerted on the party,” Para claimed during a roadshow along with the party’s candidate for Gulmarg Assembly Constituency, Shabir Ahmad Mir.
The duo was warmly received by people, who greeted them with enthusiasm.
Speaking to reporters, Para expressed confidence that the people of Gulmarg Constituency would support the PDP candidate. “The previous representatives elected from Gulmarg have not been accessible to the people or attentive to their concerns. Our PDP candidate resides within the constituency and has consistently been available to the public. He will continue to be present and responsive to the voices of the local community,” he said.
He highlighted the positive feedback he received from local youth, who he said are rallying behind the PDP candidate and party. “I have complete faith in the electorate of Gulmarg assembly constituency. They will support our party in this election,” he said.
Shabir Ahmad Mir in his address said voters from the constituency are supporting the PDP party. “The voters will provide full support for me and my party,” he said.
Mir said the PDP is a pro-people party that works for the welfare of the people. “We are always standing with the people, and our party will always stand with the people of Jammu & Kashmir in every field,” he said
