Anantnag, 27 September 2026:
Continuing its efforts to curb the menace of drug trafficking and substance abuse, Anantnag Police arrested a suspected drug peddler during naka checking at Kehribal, near Zig-Zag Mod.
A police party from Police Station Mattan, while conducting naka checking, intercepted and apprehended one suspect identified as Adil Khursheed Bhat S/o Khursheed Ahmad Bhat R/o Chickenpora, Krungsu. During his personal search, 07 strips of charas weighing 96.4 grams, wrapped in polythene, were recovered from his possession.
In this regard, FIR No. 107/2026 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Mattan and investigation has been taken up.
Anantnag Police reiterates its commitment to taking stringent action against persons involved in drug trafficking and to safeguarding the youth from the menace of drugs.
