New Delhi Dec,27- CNS :- Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away today at the age of 92. A towering figure in Indian politics and a distinguished economist, Dr. Singh served as the Prime Minister of India for a decade, from 2004 to 2014.
Born in 1932, Dr. Singh played a pivotal role in shaping India’s economic landscape, spearheading reforms that transformed the country into a global economic power.
As a mark of respect, the Government of India has declared a seven-day period of national mourning. All government programs scheduled for tomorrow have been cancelled, and a special Cabinet meeting has been called at 11 a.m. tomorrow to pay homage to the departed leader.
Dr. Singh’s last rites will be conducted with full state honors. Further details about the funeral arrangements are expected to be announced shortly.
