Srinagar, Sep 28 : Authorities in Kokernag on Monday advised general public to refrain from visiting the sinkhole that appeared at Gohihard village in the south Kashmir area.
In a public advisory issued by the Office of the Tehsildar Kokernag, as per GNS, it has been stated that a sinkhole was created at village Gohihard on September 27, 2026.
“For the safety of general public and in order that the concerned government agencies shall work without any hindrance due to gathering of crowd at the said spot, it is advised that the general public shall refrain from visiting and gathering at or around sinkhole till remedial measures are put in place to declare this spot safe again,” the advisory reads.
Meanwhile, locals said another sinkhole has appeared in the Brengi Nallah at Goihard Kokernag, nearby the same location where a sinkhole had occurred earlier. However, this time it has developed slightly downstream / below the previous spot.(GNS)
