*DC and SSP Shopian Lead Snowfall Response Efforts, Oversee Restoration and Rescue Operations*

*Shopian, Dec 28, :* In a swift and coordinated response to the challenges posed by the recent snowfall, Deputy Commissioner Shopian Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar and SSP Shopian Anayat Ali conducted an extensive visit to the town today. Their on-ground inspection focused on snow clearance operations, restoring essential services, and ensuring rescue efforts are fully operational.

During the visit, the DC reviewed the progress of snow clearance, instructing concerned agencies to accelerate their efforts, particularly on major roads to restore connectivity and enable smooth movement of people and critical supplies.

Attention was also directed towards the restoration of essential services, including power supply, water, and healthcare facilities. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of swift action to minimize disruption for residents.

In light of the treacherous road conditions caused by snow and ice, the DC assessed ongoing rescue operations, ensuring that adequate personnel and resources are in place to assist those in distress.

Accompanied by officers from the district and police administrations, as well as local authorities, the DC and SSP demonstrated a proactive approach in managing the situation, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to tackling the challenges of the season effectively.
