
Srinagar, May 29 : Weatherman on Sunday forecast a brief spell of rain and thunderstorm at scattered places in Jammu and Kashmir towards late afternoon and evening.
βCurrently, weather is mainly clear in most parts of J&K,β said a meteorological department official here, adding, βA brief spell of Rain/Thunderstorm may occur at scattered places towards late afternoon/evening.β
The official told GNS that Srinagar received recorded a low of 13.7Β°C against 13.2Β°C on the previous night. The temperature, he said, was above normal by 1.7Β°C during this time of the year for the summer capital.
Qazigund recorded a low of 11.2Β°C against 13.0Β°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.5Β°C above normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said.
Pahalgam recorded a minimum of 6.7Β°C against 10.3Β°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.6Β°C above normal for the famous resort in south Kashmir during this time of the season, he said.
Kokernag recorded a low of 11.1Β°C against 12.1Β°C on the previous night. It was 0.5Β°C above normal during this time of the season for the place in south Kashmir, the official said.
Gulmarg recorded a low of 4.5Β°C against 4.0Β°C on the previous night, the official said. While 7.1Β°C is normal for the world famous skiing resort during this time of the season, the official said that the temperature was 2.6Β°C below normal for the place in north Kashmirβs Baramulla district.
Kupwara town in north Kashmir recorded a low of 11.7Β°C against 12.8Β°C on the previous night. The temperature was 1.1Β°C above normal for the district, the official told Global News Service.
Jammu recorded a low of 23.6Β°C against 22.6Β°C on the previous night, the official said. The temperature was 1.3Β°C below normal for J&Kβs winter capital, he said. Banihal recorded a low of 12.2Β°C, Batote recorded a low of 13.8Β°C while Bhadarwah recorded minimum of 12.8Β°C, the official said. (GNS)
